Natural Wine Bar bartartareyvr.ca @_bartartare
While Bar Tartare is nestled in a relatively understated part of Vancouver’s historic Gastown, this establishment is anything but subtle. The boisterous crew and warm glow of the wine fridge welcomes friends and travelers all the same: with a friendly embrace, a rotating assortment of talented chefs, and sips of your favourite natural wine by the glass or bottle.
When approaching the bar’s identity, it was important to emphasize the personality of this special space. The branding hearkens back to the lively ambiance and staff of classic Parisian brasseries - where patrons are surrounded by a bustling crowd while enjoying elevated drinks and plates.

Plain Jane is a local ice cream shop based in the young and exciting Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood in Vancouver. Unlike other ice cream shops, Plain Jane uses fresh fruits and dairy to make their tasty treats. The branding is a nod to the childish and playful nature of ice cream, which inspired the transformation of the cup and cone into sweet characters that exist well among the elegant, custom-script wordmark. Don’t worry - it’s not too sweet!
Varsity Headwear is a Norwegian brand started by two brothers, Alex and Seb. Since its inception, Varsity Headwear has focused solely on perfecting the craft of the baseball cap. By pairing the finest raw materials from the world’s leading textile mills and a refined fit, they have developed a cap to stand the test of time.
Thirteen years after opening their flagship in Oslo, the company made one of its biggest strides and opened Varsity’s very first pop-up location in North America. In the heart of New York City, sits the historic SoHo Shack which was transformed into a small but mighty storefront for Varsity Headwear.
In addition to a curated selection of Varsity’s best-selling caps, at the shack you will also find Varsity’s first tabloid issue of The Cap Specialist. Taking heavy influences from iconic NYC prints like The New York Times and the New Yorker, I designed Varsity’s own eye-catching newspaper (complete with a product guide, city guide, and crossword), which also functions as an introduction of the company to the North American market.

Vintage Market is a summer thrift market that takes place in Edmonton at the KDays festival – an annual 10 day event that features shops, music, amusement park rides, and an array of indoor/outdoor entertainment.
The brand identity is inspired by the bright patterns and colours found in vintage wares of the 70s and 80s.
Nutria Sidra was first brewed in the backyard of a Kitsilano apartment. After a few short years, the crew released their first official batch in the summer of 2022 to wine merchants and wine bars around Vancouver.
The label design was inspired by the rich texture of BCs local land - where the apples were grown and freshly picked from the orchard.
This Spanish cider is tart and effervescent, intended to be enjoyed on a hot summer day.
